The short version. There are no accounts and no analytics. GHOSTLINE does not ask for your location, your contacts, your photos, or your email address.
The free game shows ads, served by Google AdMob. Ads are the one part of the app that involves a third party, and AdMob collects data of its own — that is described in full below. Buying the Ghostline Pass removes the ads and the AdMob SDK stops being used.
The only thing we ever receive is a run you chose to submit to the leaderboard: a random identifier, the display name you typed, and a list of the buttons you pressed. You can delete all of it from inside the app, immediately.
What is stored on your device
All of this stays on your phone and is never sent anywhere:
- Your settings — display name, sound and haptics preferences.
- Your best time for each day, and your streak.
- The recorded inputs of your best run each day, so the game can replay it as the ghost you race against.
- A randomly generated identifier, described below.
Uninstalling the app deletes all of it.
What is sent when you submit a run
A run is submitted when you finish a course and the app can reach the internet. Nothing else is ever transmitted. A submission contains exactly:
| Field | What it is | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Device identifier | A random string the app generates the first time it runs. It is not your advertising ID, not your IMEI, not your hardware serial, and it is not derived from anything about your device or about you. | So repeat runs from the same phone update one leaderboard entry rather than filling the board, and so you can delete your own data. |
| Display name | Whatever you typed in Settings, up to 16 characters. Blank if you never set one. | It is shown beside your time on the public leaderboard. |
| Input log | A compact list of when you touched and swiped during the run. Roughly a kilobyte. It contains no text and no personal information. | The server replays it to work out your time — see below — and other players can watch it back as a ghost. |
| Date and version | Which day's course you ran, and which version of the game's physics you ran it under. | To put you on the right leaderboard. |
Why the input log exists at all
Your phone never tells us your time. It sends what you pressed, and the server re-runs it through the same physics to calculate the result itself. This is how the leaderboard stays honest without us having to trust the app on your device. It is also what makes ghosts exact — when you race someone, you are watching their actual inputs replayed, not an approximation.
What our server keeps
For each submitted run: the fields above, the result the server computed from them (your time, deaths and a few statistics), and the time of submission.
Standard web server logs record the IP address of requests and are kept briefly for security and abuse prevention. They are not linked to your runs or used for any other purpose.
Leaderboards older than roughly a year are deleted automatically.
What other players can see
Your display name, your time, and your run's statistics appear on the public leaderboard for that day, and other players can replay your ghost.
Your device identifier is never shown to anyone. The leaderboard identifies you by a one-way pseudonym derived from it, so players can recognise a rival across days without the identifier itself ever leaving our server. This matters because that identifier is the key that deletes your data.
Deleting your data
Open Settings → Erase my data in the app. This removes everything stored on your device and every run you have ever submitted to the leaderboard. It happens immediately, needs no request or approval, and the app tells you how many runs were removed.
If the app cannot reach the server at that moment, it says so and removes the local data only — open the screen again when you are online to finish the job.
Uninstalling the app without erasing first will leave your submitted runs on the leaderboard, because after uninstalling there is no longer any way to prove they were yours. Erase first if you want them gone. You can also write to support@mackorgames.com and we will help.
Children
GHOSTLINE is suitable for all ages. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, of any age, beyond the display name a player chooses to type. If a name identifies a child and you would like it removed, write to privacy@mackorgames.com and we will remove it.
Advertising
The free version of the game shows ads supplied by Google AdMob. There is a banner on the menu screens and a single full-screen ad when you leave a play session — never between attempts.
AdMob is operated by Google, not by us, and it collects information of its own to serve and measure those ads. That typically includes an advertising identifier, your approximate location derived from your IP address, your device model and operating system, and interactions with the ads themselves. We do not receive any of it, and we cannot see who saw which ad.
The app requests non-personalised ads, which limits AdMob to contextual targeting rather than a profile built from your activity. What Google does with the data it collects is governed by Google's privacy policy.
Buying the Ghostline Pass stops this entirely. With the Pass active, no ad is requested and the AdMob SDK is not asked to load anything.
Purchases
The Ghostline Pass is sold through Google Play, either as a monthly subscription or as a one-time permanent purchase. Payment is handled entirely by Google — we never see your card details, your name, or your billing address.
The app asks Google whether this device owns the Pass and stores the yes/no answer locally so it works offline. That answer is not sent to our server and is not linked to your leaderboard entries.
Other third parties
None. No analytics SDK, no crash reporting service, no social logins, no other advertising network. Apart from AdMob and Google Play billing described above, the app talks to one server, ghostline.mackorgames.com, which we operate, and to nothing else.
Where the data is
Our server is hosted in Europe. Submissions are sent over an encrypted connection.
Your rights
Because there are no accounts, the only data connected to you is what is described above, and the app gives you a button that deletes all of it. If you would like a copy of what we hold, or have any other request, write to privacy@mackorgames.com.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected, the date at the top will change and the app will say so before the next submission.
